Third Times a Charm
Hi!!! Welcome to the new world! I gave the blog a fresh renovation, a slight color palette upgrade, and a new name!! I’ve been feeling freshly inspired lately, but at the same time kind of stunted. I think this little update will do me some good. Some more life updates:
I started taking ballet classes! I’ve only done a handful, and it’s very different from the ballroom classes I took growing up. It’s very difficult on me and my “extraordinarily weak external hip rotators,” according to my teacher. But I’m really enjoy learning something new, and getting to move my body in a way that I’m not used to. It’s a fun way to get exercise. I’m improving very, very slowly, but I really like it!
I joined a softball team! I signed up to be a free agent for the cast softball league, and I was chosen!! I now play on the DVC team, and they’ve been so welcoming and friendly. I’m so happy to be on their team, and I’m really glad that I signed up. Joining a team of strangers and taking up ballet are both very out of my comfort zone, and it’s definitely been worth it. I love playing softball, even if I’m not the best player in the world, it’s just a lot of fun, and I’m a advocate of recreational team sports, as I’ve mentioned during the Funky Giraffe days.
I’ve started volunteering! Today I had my first regular volunteer shift at Give Kids the World Village, which is a resort for Make-A-Wish families that are visiting the theme parks here. I did one shift with a group from work, and I enjoyed it so much that I’ve decided to dedicate a few hours a month to volunteering! Today I was a carousel gate keeper, and I worked with a lovely woman named Edie who was so interesting and kind, and showed me all around the village! I met so many new people and a few families and really got to learn new things about the Wishes. I’m excited to keep going back and getting more familiar with my new volunteer work.
I got a second job! I’ve started working at Free People on the side now, just to make a little bit of play money and have a “normal” job. I love working at WDW, of course, and I have no plans to leave anytime soon, but sometimes it can be a bit of a daunting job, and it will be nice to have a regular little retail shift every now and then.
A lot of new things in my life the past couple months. I’m really enjoying the way I’m spending my time. All of these new things, plus spending time with my friends and my boyfriend every week. Now, if I can only manage my outbursts and emotional spats, then I’ll be really set!!! I have a lot of things floating around in my head that I’m dying to talk about, but it’s 12:55 a.m. and in the morning I’ll be getting Friday the 13th flash tattoos with my friends! I just wanted to do a quick little re-introduction post while the upgrade is still fresh! Stay tuned for more of my life, my thoughts, my ideas, my complaints, my everything!!! It’s all about Lilly in Lillytopia now!
